About the event
After taking the First Prize and Gold Medal at the Third Tchaikovsky International Competition, Karine Georgian’s international career has embraced Eastern and Western Europe, the Far East, Australia and the United States, where she made her Carnegie Hall debut in the Cello Concerto of her compatriot Aram Khachaturian conducted by the composer, and also gave the US première of his Cello Rhapsody with the Chicago Symphony.
Since his highly praised 2009 solo debut at Berlin’s Philharmonie, Sacha Rattle has become an established soloist. Noted for his immense sensitivity, warm character and unique sound, his career has developed rapidly with performances throughout Europe, including festival appearances at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Rheingau Festival, Spannungen Festival, Krzyżowa, Kammermusikfest Lockenhaus and Italy's AnimaMundi Festival.
Simon Callaghan performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, in parallel with a highly successful career as a recording artist. A favourite performer at the internationally-renowned Husum Festival of Piano Rarities in Germany, Callaghan’s recent sell-out concert was praised by VAN Magazine as a “cleverly curated recital full of discoveries” and by the Frankfurter Allgemeine
Zeitung as “technically brilliant”.
