Nikita Lukinov
Nikita Lukinov is a Scotland-based concert pianist acclaimed for his “extraordinary breadth and freedom of imagination” (Gramophone) and named a “Rising Star” by BBC Music Magazine. He has performed as a soloist in major venues across the UK, Europe, and Russia, including London’s Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, Bechstein Hall, and Steinway Hall; Edinburgh’s Usher Hall and St Giles’ Cathedral; Barcelona’s Palau de la Música; the Verbier Festival; Fazioli Hall in Italy; and the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow. His performances have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Scotland, and Scala Radio.
In 2025-2026, Nikita will give numerous performances throughout the UK and embarks on a tour of China in November. He was recently awarded 3rd Prize at the 2025 Málaga International Piano Competition.
A key milestone in his career came during the 2024-2025 season, when he completed an ambitious 40-concert tour across Scotland, from the Borders to the Orkney Islands. The tour included appearances at venues such as the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Inverness Town Hall, Perth Concert Hall, and the St Magnus Festival. Alongside recital work, he led outreach events in care homes and special education schools, affirming his commitment to inclusive musical engagement.
Originally from Russia, Nikita received full scholarships to study at The Purcell School and later at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he completed his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Artist Diploma degrees with distinction. Since 2022, he has served as a piano lecturer at the RCS, becoming the youngest senior faculty member across the UK’s Royal Schools of Music. His debut CD was released by KNS Classical in 2023.
