The Concert Programme will be really enjoyable with a good selection and mixed with contemporary arrangements of well known Scottish pieces for Choir.

This year's St John's Concerts will feature the Choral Requiem Op 48 by Gabriel Fauré(.1845 - 1924) and a full varied Supporting Programme The 'Requiem', a perenniel favouite in seven movements, is a new arrangment for three parts and organ, arranged by Morten Schuldt-Jensen, Fauré's Requiem is the serene masterpiece. Unlike the fire-and-brimstone Requiems of Mozart and Verdi, this particular work takes a serene, consoling view of death and the afterlife, earning it the title "The Lullaby of Death" The Concert will be performed by the Choir, Soprano, Barritone solists and organ accompaniment, introducing two young, talented, Dumfires soloists, Miriam Graham-Clark (Soprano) - S4 Wallace Hall Academy and Blair Kalotka (Baritone/Bass) - S6 Dalbeattie High School; Dalbeattie organist Gordon Mursell; piano accompanist Hilary Craig, Music Director Rory Robson.
